Boston Sketches

My mind is still spinning as I sit down to write. I never knew that setting up a platform to share my work would be so exhausting. I find my mind slipping back to Saturday. My sister and I wandered around Boston with beat up feet and sun-burnt faces. Yet as the city unfolded around us we gazed around in wonder. We love the deep woods and the long meandering dirt roads of our home. Yet there is something exciting about venturing into Boston. As the tall building rise up, I can almost hear the city’s heart beat. The excitement pulls us close, even if only for a little while.

We sat on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, looking out as life went on all around us. People walked around in Hockey Jerseys, and tourists working to gain their bearings. Parents chased toddlers, while adolescences boys showed off on skateboards. We sat as silent witnesses, only breaking the calm with quiet murmurings. We look on, life moving on all around us.
